Hi, ~irohane. I like Qara, my reasons as following: 1)She is awesome and hilarious.(Sunken Flagon argue scene is the best cutscene in entire NWN2) 2)I can understand how Qara feels and why she is so sad and bitter. I pity her as she was cruelly harassed by Chaotic Evil bulies and nobady cared for her. I sympathise with her as so many evil villains(Sydney Natale, Johcris,Glina,Hetha, Praven, Ashni) tried to murder her. 3)I know that Qara is compassionate and care much for the Player if she\he was kind to her. Qara proved that in ecounter with shadow priest and when she offered to fight evil Lorne for Player.(Sand don't fight for Player) 4)Qara is very useful. She is Sorcerer, magical powerhouse much better than any wizard. I use Puppet Mode so i can deciede what spell Qara cast and when to avoid friendly fire at Hardcore mode. I use Qara to buff up entire party so i use her in almost every area. 5)I pity Qara as she is only 16 year old kid and she doesn't deserved to perish under falling boulder after defeat of King of Shadows. 6)I played many times and always killed Sand when he betrayed me to Black Garius. I play mostly as Chaotic Good and Lawful Good, so i want Sand defeated for being a minionof Lawful Evil undead-Lich wizard\archmage Arklem Greeth, leader of the terrorist Arcane Brotherhood of Luskan.
What do you think? Can you tell me why exactly you like Qara?
In many ways, our motivations are similar. I also like the scene in the tavern. I consider that Qara is very intellectual. But in the battle against the King of Shadows, she betrayed me. Perhaps this is because I had previously refused her help against Lorn. I wanted to fight itself. I was very sad when it happened. Qara very powerful sorcerer. I really like her destructive power. Also the fact that she uses the fire.
When i played as Chaotic Good i said: +3 Qara "instinct and experience is the best instructor." no alignment shift
+3 Qara "so long as you know when to unleash your power." no alignment shift
+3 Qara about Chaotic evil stundents that attack you when you leave the Inn with her"Fair enough, if they were insulting you, then they needed to be taught a lesson." +1 Chaotic shift
+3 Qara- after visiting Sand's shop say "He is arrogant - we've had unpleasant dealings with him before." or "Then good riddance to him. We don't need to hear it anymore". no alignment shift
+3 Qara- if you talk to her about Johris "If he tries to fight with you - and us - he'll get what he deserves." +3 Chaotic shift
Saying those 5 sentences to her should be enough for Qara to remain loyal. However i said those sentences as well:
+1 Khelgar +1 Qara if you say "If a fight's what we have to do, then so be it. Let's go."
+1 Qara (when you meet the third Shadow Priest) and say "I won't let you hurt her."
+1 Qara -1 Bishop if you say "We don't have time - we have to catch up, so let's move."
+1 Khelgar +1 Qara if you say "If that was the best they could do, we'll be fine."
+1 Qara (when you challenge Cain before the last round) say "Qara, can you arrange some pyrotechnics for me?" When i was a Bard-Dragon Disciple
+2 Qara -2 Sand (when you enter Duskwood and Qara+Sand are in party) if you say "You could have warned us what this forest did, Sand - before we came here."
+1 Qara (when Qara offers fight for a Player during Rite of Tyr) if you say "I'd welcome that, I think he wouldn't stand a chance." If you refuse Qara's offer to fight Lorne , you only lose -1 influence.
+1 Qara (if when talking to Sydney Natale, Jalboun comes up and you say) "Sydney, send your thug away before I let Qara use him for target practice."
+1 Qara (during Crossroad Keep Siege) if you say "Qara." and then "I don't want you to hold back - wipe out as many of the enemy as possible and keep the walls clear."
Most of Qara influence won't cause any alignment shift. Even Paladin can collect most of Qara's influence. Several sentences cause light Chaotic shift(+1or+3). Any good character can gain enough Qara influence so she remain loyal and Sand become traitor. If you want keep Qara loyal you must have at last 1 point greater influence with her than those of Sand.
~irohane, if you want Qara staying with you and Sand joining Black Garius, then you must lose some influence with Sand. Qara influence must be greater than those of Sand, it cannot be equal.
+2 Qara -2 Sand (when you enter Duskwood and Qara+Sand are in party) if you say "You could have warned us what this forest did, Sand - before we came here."
+1 Casavir -1 Sand (when you meet the Dryad Lyssa, who thinks you are Lorne) and say "You're mistaken. I'm not Lorne." or "What are you talking about? We've never met before."
-2 Sand if you say "We're doing this my way, so stand back and be silent."
-1 Sand (during the Trial) if you say "I still don't understand how I was ill-fated enough to have you represent me."
When in Merdelaine say this: -3 Sand if you say "I think I'd rather have taken my chances in going through the Mere than teleporting here."
Do not say that: -3 Qara if you say "The Tome worked, but this is as close as we we could get."
lost 3 influence you say? Strange as it shoud be as following:
+1 Qara (if she has a higher influence than Sand) if you say "I'd welcome that, I think he wouldn't stand a chance." -1 Qara (if she has a higher influence than Sand) if you say "This isn't about killing him - I just want justice, and "I need to do it myself." or "I don't want anyone's help..." or "Just get out of here."
I can send you full influence guide if you wish. Good luck.
